GB1 - AOSHIMA 1948 JAGUAR XK120

Post by STEVE on Thu Oct 30, 2014 10:18 am

Yeah well, I changed my mind.
Seeing as certain hooligan elements are fouling our lovely website with little Italian tin cans...
Thought I'd bring in a bit of culture Very Happy

This is an old kit, over 30 years old. It was originally a Monogram / Revell mould as can be seen from the photo below. Some of these moulds seem to be have passed around like an old tart! Suspect

Included in the kit is the Jaguar DOHC straight 6 engine, and left and right hand drive options, not bad for a 30 year old kit.

Im probably going to finish in British Racing Green with Leather interior, or White with red/white interior. But that will probably change.
And finally, the date proof.

Let the games begin

Thought I'd better make a start before I get shouted at Shocked

Stuck the engine block together and gave it a squirt of aluminium.
Just gave it a first wash to bring out some of the detail.

Howzit chappies
Thought id better do an update Cool
Engine basically done. Added the plug wires and the filters on the side are scratchbuilt.

I also assembled the entire chassis, which was a massive job and all three pieces took me nearly 10 minutes!!! and then undercoated.
